PSA 6.2 — Pumps: API 610 Table 5, Annex F, and Modelling a Pump System End to End
An 8″ hot-oil pump discharge. Top nozzle. The route goes 5.5 m straight up to the rack tier, an elbow, then 8 m across to the first line stop. Normal, tidy, exactly what the layout model shows on a hundred other pumps.
Operating weight of that line, with hot oil at SG 0.85 and 50 mm of mineral wool:
pipe 42.55 + oil 27.44 + insulation & cladding ≈ 12 = 82.0 kg/m w = 82.0 × 9.81 = 804 N/m W = (5.5 riser + 4.0 half the horizontal) × 0.804 = 7.64 kN The API 610 vertical allowable…
