
PSA 3.4 — Wind, Static Seismic and the Occasional Combination
A 12″ insulated, water-filled line runs along the second tier of a rack on a coastal site: basic wind speed 44 m/s, seismic design category with S_DS = 0.5 g, 6 m spans. The client's criteria demand a wind case and a seismic case. You build them, run them, and the occasional stress check comes back at 14 % of allowable .
